The Lifestyle
Rittenhouse Square offers one of Philadelphia’s most sophisticated urban lifestyles—a neighborhood where historic brownstones, luxury condominiums, tree-lined residential streets, destination restaurants, independent boutiques and one of the city’s most recognizable parks all coexist within a highly walkable setting.
At its center is Rittenhouse Square, one of William Penn’s original five public squares. Today, the park functions almost like the neighborhood’s living room: morning coffee, dog walks, farmers markets, outdoor dining, art shows and afternoons spent people-watching.
What distinguishes Rittenhouse is that residents can have a true walk-out-your-door lifestyle. Walnut and Chestnut Streets form one of Philadelphia's primary upscale shopping districts, while smaller streets such as Delancey, Addison and St. James Place provide a completely different residential experience of historic homes, mature trees and architectural character.
The Real Estate
For a buyer, I would explain that Rittenhouse isn't one housing market.
There are luxury condominium towers and full-service buildings, classic prewar residences, historic brownstones and townhouses, boutique condominium conversions and extraordinarily charming smaller residential streets.
That distinction matters. Someone looking for a concierge, elevator, views and amenities is shopping for a very different Rittenhouse experience than someone who wants a restored townhouse on Delancey or a quiet home tucked along one of the neighborhood's smaller streets.

Friday Saturday Sunday — An intimate special-occasion destination with a Michelin-starred tasting-menu experience upstairs and cocktail bar downstairs.
Vernick Food & Drink — Refined New American dining in a converted Walnut Street brownstone.
Parc — The quintessential Rittenhouse experience. French brasserie, sidewalk tables overlooking the Square and some of the neighborhood's best people-watching.
The Love. — Polished but approachable American dining that's particularly useful to recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Little Water — A more intimate seafood-forward neighborhood restaurant at 20th and Manning.
Uchi Philadelphia — Contemporary Japanese and sushi for buyers looking for a newer upscale dining experience.
Wine & Cocktails
Tria Cafe Rittenhouse It has been part of the neighborhood since 2004 and revolves around wine, cheese and beer in a relaxed setting.
